The MusicXML Preferences continue to allow a different setting for batch export of MusicXML files. Version 7.2 changes the default file format for exporting a single MusicXML file from uncompressed (.musicxml) to compressed (.mxl) files.
Underscores are no longer stripped from hyperlinks during export. Import no longer fails when the default Finale document is not empty. Hidden text expressions with playback definitions no longer export a processing instruction about an unrecognized text expression. Instrument sounds are exported using SmartMusic options if the instruments are Unknown in the ScoreManager window. Hidden whole measure rests now export correctly in time signatures other than 4/4. Voice export is improved for single-staff parts that use layers 2, 3, and 4 exclusively and include measure rests. Import positioning is more accurate for rehearsal marks that are close to the left barline. Export and import now handle page-attached text using the part/score name insert, and MusicXML credits identified as a part name. When possible, they will import either as top staff only or with a named and editable staff list. Import of endings and text repeats has been improved for easier editing in the score or linked parts. Linked parts can be generated after import. Import of tempo mark, tempo alteration, and rehearsal mark expressions has been improved for easier use with linked parts. Version 7.3 includes the following features and fixes: Numerals on 1-bar multimeasure rests are imported more accurately. Unslashed flagged grace notes are imported more accurately. Default hyphen and beam distance are now correctly exported and imported. Version 7.4 includes the following features and fixes: Parts with no visible clefs are now imported without clefs displaying. Hidden time signatures at the start of a part now export as senza misura. 
Hidden smart shapes are no longer exported.Accent articulations in a text font are now exported as accents.Hyperlinks for measure-attached text blocks are now exported.Metronome font information is now exported.Positions of text repeats at the end of multimeasure rests export more accurately.Staff style changes in the middle of the first measure are now exported.The Scale Expression with Attached Note setting is supported during export.
Text in the JazzText, Broadway Copyist Text, and Finale Copyist Text fonts now exports more accurately, especially for codas, segnos, and metronome marks.Version 7.5 includes the following features and fixes: When notes display in other layers when rhythmic notation is applied, their stem directions now export correctly and articulations are displayed after import.Stems shortened to nothing using the stem length tool are now exported correctly.Measure numbers now export more accurately from documents with multiple measure number regions.Stacked chord symbols are now exported and imported.
Custom Clef Designer definitions are now exported. Percussion notation rests set to a specific staff position now export and import more accurately. Music written on 2- or 3-line percussion staves now exports and imports more accurately. Music written with percussion clefs using standard rather than percussion notation now exports correctly.
